about
Fucking the world like a battering ram
To leave behind nothing but havoc
Always onward, never looking back
Like blade from the shadows we strike
UNHOLY TERROR KORPS
To cut out the cancer of humanity
KILLING WITH NO REMORSE
We are His hammer, the tools of His will
BOW TO THE 616
Follow the path of predacity or
DIE BY THE HAND OF THE BEAST
No compromise, it's kill or be killed
Legions of Black Flame I call to thee
Gather the force as it's time to arise
We have been dormant for far too long
This is the call to attack!
Pour a diesel gasoline into steel pot,
Add up the broken pieces of the white styrofoam
Stir up the mix and wait for styro to dissolve
Remove the extra gasoline - you got napalm
We don't need more musicians, we need terrorists
We are the hand that must clench into a fist
Against PC police, against humanity,
We have to bring back what was lost in 1993!
Weed out the weak, crush 'em like maggots,
Devil yearns blood sacrifice
Bring back reign of terror and never surrender
With hearts born of fire and minds made of ice

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae

I'd say Havukruunu is the rightful holder of the Crown and the mantle of Quorthon. Epic choirs, vikingesque themes and tales from the other times, of the Finnish paganism back in the days before our ancestors were brought to the cross and forced to kneel while feeling the bloody sword of saviour on their throats made to kiss the hand of murderers who burnt thousands, tore down our holy places and took our holy days. Eyes teary I listen to these songs, never forgiving the crimes of the cross! Peikonmieli

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
