lyrics
What will you do when the world you escaped comes knocking at your door?
Will you choose conformity or clench your fists?
Where is the line crossing of which will open up your eyes?
And turn yourself from human sheep into a beast?
Can you hear it?
The blood begins to boil
Prepare to take your stand
As pillars crumble….
You think you have it all, you think you’re in control
Among your safety's embers
Just make sure that you remember
We all will fall! It all shall fall!
Riding the tide in Kali-Yuga's nadir
Upon the carcass of Bull of Dharma
The culture of today is heading it's frontier
The Iron Will and Discipline, a path of most severe....
Behold the blood-stained rapture
The suicide salvation,
As world is reaching New Cold War!
Masses engineered to do Kingmaker's bidding
Divided more and more to pit against each other
We all are merely cannon fodder
Disposable for ridding
Can you hear it?
The voices of the dead
The roar of distant thunder...
Omega Red!
Clouds gather dark,
Days give away to nights
The stronger gets the Dread..
Clouds gather dark,
Days give away to nights
Towards Omega Red!
The pillars crumble,
As we're marching into black
All will end with seas of innocent blood!
The pillars crumble,
Too late for turning back
We will end with seas of innocent blood!
The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74
Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae
I'd say Havukruunu is the rightful holder of the Crown and the mantle of Quorthon. Epic choirs, vikingesque themes and tales from the other times, of the Finnish paganism back in the days before our ancestors were brought to the cross and forced to kneel while feeling the bloody sword of saviour on their throats made to kiss the hand of murderers who burnt thousands, tore down our holy places and took our holy days. Eyes teary I listen to these songs, never forgiving the crimes of the cross! Peikonmieli
Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
